At the Los Angeles teaser launch of Ramayana, actor Ranbir Kapoor spoke about the depth and responsibility of portraying Lord Ram, describing the character as a timeless symbol of human values.
During the event, which included an exclusive IMAX screening and a Q&A session with the team, Ranbir reflected on the global and spiritual significance of Lord Ram. He noted that the character has served as a guiding force for billions of people for centuries and will continue to inspire generations to come.
Elaborating on the essence of the role, Ranbir said that Lord Ram represents the human spirit, especially in the face of adversity. He explained that the character embodies key virtues such as compassion, courage, righteousness, and forgiveness. Calling him “Maryada Purushottam,” Ranbir highlighted that the term stands for the ideal man, underlining the moral and ethical strength associated with the character.
The actor also acknowledged the immense responsibility that comes with bringing such a revered figure to life on screen. Playing Lord Ram, he suggested, is not just about performance but about understanding the deeper philosophical and emotional layers of the epic.
The teaser of the film was unveiled to a select audience in Los Angeles ahead of its official global release on April 2. The event saw the presence of director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra, who joined Ranbir in interacting with viewers and sharing insights into the film.
The upcoming magnum opus, also starring Sai Pallavi, Yash, and Sunny Deol, has already generated strong buzz, with early reactions praising its scale, visuals, and emotional depth.
